The Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women / University of Baghdad, Lect. Dr. Hind Salem Taih participated in the scientific conference held at the University of Baghdad under the slogan (Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance: A Pillar for Developing the University Personality).

The Center for Educational and Psychological Research at the University of Baghdad organized the event under the title (Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance at the University of Baghdad: Scientific Foundations for Developing the University Environment) on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the Center’s conference hall.

The conference was attended by Prof. Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, the University President’s Assistant for Scientific Affairs, representing the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Baha Ibrahim Insaf, and heads of counseling units from various university colleges.

The session opened with a welcoming speech delivered by the Center’s Director, Prof. Dr. Fadel Shakir Al-Saadi, followed by remarks from the Scientific Assistant, who praised the significant role of counseling units in Baghdad University colleges and their contribution to providing psychological and educational support that fosters a healthy university environment, helping students overcome challenges and build well-balanced personalities. Mr. Saad Hassan Hammoud, Head of the Counseling Division at the Center, gave a subsequent speech.

The conference reviewed the activities and programs accomplished during the past year in psychological counseling and educational guidance. Additionally, the top three colleges were honored with commemorative shields and medals for their outstanding efforts in this field.

The conference concluded with fruitful discussions and active participation from attendees, who shared insights and practical suggestions aimed at developing the academic, educational, and psychological aspects of the university environment in line with the institution’s mission to promote moderation and positive thinking among students.
